The Austin Coaching Coalition was created to serve two constituencies. First, we exist to connect everyday people with the coaching they need, and second, we provide business tools and training for coaches. We seek to serve the greater good through a mutually beneficial, supportive community of professional coaches, each of whom effectively impacts clients, organizations and the public at large in positive ways. Clients achieve results they didn’t dream were possible, and coaches can achieve a lifestyle that allows them the very necessary work/life balance and consistent revenue of a successful professional coaching practice.
Wikipedia tells us that a coalition is “a pact or treaty among individuals or groups, during which they cooperate in joint action, each in their own self-interest, joining forces together for a common cause.”
Our founder, Myrna King discovered through months of research that many solo-practitioners of coaching share a general feeling that “we are all inventing the same wheel.” Some coaches are fantastic marketing & PR, some at developing product launches, some at writing blogs, some at public speaking, etc. So Myrna entered into a conversation around what kind of support for coaches would make the biggest impact and allow each coach to reach more clients and therefore facilitate more transformation in our great city, which lead them to our ultimate goal—100,000 additional people experiencing the benefits of coaching in Austin!
A coalition can more effectively market to organizations and the general public. By providing outreach to the Austin community via speed coaching platforms, speaking opportunities, networking forums, workshops and executive coaching programs, the ACC can share the resulting coaching opportunities with coalition members. We truly believe the old adage that “a rising tide lifts all boats.”
